House Teams
Children at CVPS belong to one of four house team groups : Willow, Sycamore, Beech and Oak. The children at CVPS voted for these house team names. All siblings are in the same house team group allowing a sense of unity and togetherness between home and school life.
The house team system is designed to support and foster positive relationships through a strong sense of responsibility and community across school. It is also a key vehicle for spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) curriculum, promoting an understanding of direct experience of democratic systems and procedures.
How does the system work?
House points are freely distributed on Trackit, by any adult in school, to children who are seen to be following the school rules.
Cramlington Village Primary School Rules are:
Be ready.
Be respectful.
Be safe.
Be our best.
House points, once awarded, cannot be taken away. There is a weekly count and a weekly winning house team. The children have voted for the prizes that they receive, such as extra playtime, an ice pop or a short film slot. Every half term, there is a whole school winning house team and prize. Once again, the children have voted for the prizes that they receive, such as a forest school afternoon, pyjama day or trip to the local park.
